Um.....I was right about the rabbits...

I started moving some straw around in the garden today and I unearthed a rabbit's nest - IN THE GARDEN! That's not good. There were 4 babies. No sign of Mom. I suspect that Mom may not have been around for a few days, since I plugged up the hole in the fence. I took another walk around the perimeter of the rabbit guard and I don't see any obvious entrance point, and nothing else has been eaten.

I took these out of the garden and put them on a bed of straw at the edge of the shed where we have rabbits every year. Maybe they'll reconnect with Mom. Or maybe not. But it's the best I can do for them. I SURE don't want them in my garden.

  1. I know this is truly a problem having rabbits in your garden, but what a cute problem to have! I hope the babies reconnect with mommy too.

  2. Hi there Shannon, I am glad to see I am not the only blogger on Tasteful Gardens that is eager and up and running with my garden. Critters can be such a challenge. I had deer that decided to live in my tiny corn patch last year, and of course, I didn't get to enjoy any corn. Rats!! This year I noticed something playing with my onions, and chewing on my fava beans. There is a supicious hole a few feet away that could belong to a chipmunk. What are my useless cats there for?? Of course I love chipmunks, but not in my garden!!
